fairfield, vacaville, pulling away from american canyon and napa, all evaporating. sprinkle is all we are dealing with now. into the next couple of hours sprinkles, light rain tonight snow level 3,000 feet with this storm. with the past storm that tornado was a waterspout it came ashore near watsonville, the path was about a mile long, winds of around 75 miles per hour, damaged several greenhouses and a few trees were uprooted they found debris in some of the power poles and trees around there. very weak tornado, but very rare occurrence for us. j same is going to happen out of this system. i'll have more in just a minute. >>> state senator hill of san mateo is going to introduce bail to require repeat drunk drivers to blow into -- into a breathalyzer before they hit the road even if they are sober. he just wrapped up a news conference to announce that legislation. it would require ignition interlock devices on vehicles after a second dui conviction. the device requires a breath sample before the engine can start. >> we've tried increasing fines. we've tried to revoke licenses to dete

for the end of december. it will feel cool once again. 50 in san rafael, 52 in fremont and 51 out in napa and santaa rosa. if you are doing traveling around northern california, for the most part, we are looking at dry skies for tomorrow. laka tahoe, a freight day to head up, do skiing, tons of powder. there are are no chain requirements right now at interstate 80 or highway 50. fresno, cloudy skies there. plenty of sunshine out in sacramento. here is the forecast over the next several days. once again we are keeping that chance of rain in the forecast for monday. it looks like not much at this point into the afternoon and evening. and then clear skies for tuesday. tuesday night into wednesday can get cold by the way. one of the coldest overnights for the week and unsettled weather wednesday and thursday. none of them looking like a lot of rain and then friday into saturday. more unsettled weather. that is a check of your forecast. we will be back with sports right after this ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, ...well hello play- offs. of the 30's. about 47 degrees and napa and 42 currently in concord. it will be low fifties for the coast at about 53 degrees for san francisco on the next forecast i will take a look at what is expected for the rest of the weekend. >> in other bay area and knows. a driver is recovering from a major injuries following a solo car crash in calloused though the last night. the chp said that the car crashed into a tree near silverado trail and pick it road just after 11:00 p.m.. emergency crews responding to the scene to help extricate the driver, who was trapped inside the vehicle. if the driver was taken to a hospital to be treated for major injuries. the cause of the crash has not been released. >> firefighters have extinguished a one alarm fire that damaged a house in san jose late friday night. fire crews responding to a report of a fire at home and the 2100 block of carbide weighed just after 9:30 p.m.. firefighters were able to get the fire under control about an hour later. no injuries were reported in the cause the fire is still under investigation. >> san francisco firefighters have

at this. low 50s all that blue you see means it's going to be chilly in santa rosa, napa a little more mild around the bay 54 in oakland and fremont. but again, colder today than yesterday. the unsettled weather continues into saturday morning, clearing for sunday. we could see mostly sunny skies and a chance of rain in our forecast. it looks like for the most part new year's eve day, if you have any new year's eve plans at night dry through new year's day tuesday. and then wednesday, things get wet once again. if you are about to hit roads, the roads look great all across the bay area. it is a holiday and we're seeing extra "holiday light" traffic. in fact, we have been seeing it all week at the bay bridge toll plaza. they have never had to turn on the metering lights. today appears to be the same story, cash and fastrak lanes look clear. i made this map of the east bay. first we'll show you palette. this is a live look 101 near university. slight delays, looks like they have the metering lights on getting on the freeway. the main lines still look good. now look at this map of the eas

to be chilly but not quite as cold. still in the 30's in napa, fairfield, livermore, and also when half moon bay appeared and not that bad in half moon bay. but we could see clearer skies tomorrow. as for your extended forecast, we are going to see dry conditions tomorrow. also on sunday with temperatures increasing a bit. the chance of rainfall on monday for the north bay just a slight chance. clouds will increase but drier on tuesday but the rainfall will return wednesday and thursday >> jacqueline: catherine? >> catherine: there is some developing news with the coast guard got a call of two swimmers getting in trouble near the north tower of the golden cleat. you are looking at the scene it they were on stretchers earlier. however those swimmers are being taken to the golden gate station and they will be examined to make sure they're ok. it does not appear that any of them are seriously hurt. we can see one of them being taken off on a stretcher. we are being told that they do not appear to be seriously injured but we will keep you updated. >> as 2012 comes to a close.our own stanley robe

area as well as the bay area. napa is 40 out the door and fremont is waking up to 42 degrees. as we take a look at that afternoon highs everyone will be and the low to mid 50s. >> in downtown san francisco was at 52 degrees and the same as for richmond. the high-pressure is in control briefly and we do have more wet weather on the way. futurecast 4 has a set for 8:00 a.m.. we will be dry and so we do not believe it was the more hazardous conditions. it will be mostly cloudy. the rain will be off shore. as we head into afternoon we do not see much more involved. it may just be a stray showers. if we do see moraine the chances are for tomorrow night. >> i think the mid peninsula and to the south will remain dry by 5:00 p.m.. showers will pick up as we head into the overnight hours. we do have the possibility of stray showers for saturday morning as well. it will start to clear up for saturday afternoon headed into sunday. we may have a 10th of an inch to 1/4. the morning fall on monday and a chance for showers as we linas we head into the new year. >> look at the bay bridge. the meter
